Clip-Skip watches the video. You watch what matters. Tell it roughly how much time you have — we'll get you a version that fits.
Most videos also have the twenty minutes around it — the intro, the sponsor read, the tangent, the recap of the recap. Clip-Skip finds the part you came for and skips the rest.
Let the AI decide, or tell it what you're working with — five minutes, ten, whatever fits your day.
Clip-Skip reads the video and picks the segments most worth your time — the stuff people would clip and send you.
Auto-skip through filler, jump between chapters, pause the skipping whenever you want to see more.
Every video you process helps build a shared library of compacted videos — anonymously.
Several versions of the same video, at different lengths. You decide how deep to go today, not the AI.
Popular videos are often already in the Community Library. No wait, no reprocessing — just watch.
The actual video, auto-skipping to the good parts, with chapters you can jump between anytime.
You watch the real footage, compacted — not a bullet list you read instead of watching.
Your own AI key, if you use one, never leaves your browser. No transcripts stored. No behavioral tracking.
Every video you process can save the next person the wait — and theirs can do the same for you.
Use your own API key and pay us nothing, or let Clip-Skip handle everything through simple credits.
Think of it as match highlights, crowdsourced: someone already cut it down, you just hit play.
Clip-Skip under the hood.
| Access level | What you can watch in the Community Library |
|---|---|
| Not signed in | Up to 10 videos per day, each under 20 minutes original length |
| Registered, free tier (BYOK) | Unlimited, videos under 30 minutes, limited to content from other free-tier users |
| Paid tier (Basic / Pro / Premium) | Full access to both free-tier and paid-tier content, no duration cap, no daily cap — 0.1 credit per video, charged once, only for content produced using platform credits |
The 0.1 credit charge for watching platform-credit-produced content is designed to encourage participation in the Community Library — contributing your own videos keeps the library growing, which is what makes it valuable for everyone.
Clip-Skip reads the video's transcript to understand what's being said and which parts matter, and uses its timestamps to segment the video into keep/cut sections.
Because segmentation relies on transcript timestamps, you might occasionally notice a cut land a beat early or late. Reloading usually resolves any display glitches you run into.
We intentionally give the AI flexibility around your target duration instead of a hard cutoff — a rigid cutoff makes for choppier edits, a looser target makes for a more natural one. If a result cuts too much or too little, reprocess it with a specific duration in mind; the next pass typically lands closer to what you wanted.
If something looks off or isn't working as expected, reload the page. This usually resolves the issue.
Clip-Skip is a Chrome extension that compresses YouTube videos using AI. We collect minimal data and give you full control over your privacy.
Account data: Email, password (encrypted), subscription status. Video data: URLs, AI-identified chapters with timestamps, duration. Local only: Your API key (if BYOK) stays encrypted in your browser, never sent to us.
Every video you process is added to our Community Library anonymously. Your identity is never shown. After 30 days, library entries are no longer listed publicly, but remain accessible to you personally. If you delete your account, your personal data is permanently removed, but the underlying library data persists under a pseudonymous ID to keep the library intact.
Clip-Skip currently displays a static, in-app promotional banner encouraging free-tier users to upgrade to a paid plan. This banner does not involve any data collection, tracking, or third parties — it is shown the same way to all free-tier users.
Planned: We anticipate introducing advertising for free-tier users in the future, potentially through third-party advertising partners. If and when this happens, we will update this Privacy Policy to name the specific partner(s) involved and describe what data, if any, is shared with them, before the feature goes live.
You can request access, correction, deletion, or export of your data. Contact support@clip-skip.com.
By using Clip-Skip, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the service.
Free tier (BYOK): Use your own API key, pay providers directly. Paid tiers: Basic $6.99 every 2 months (70 credits), Pro $14.99 every 2 months (200 credits), Premium $29.99 every 3 months (550 credits).
Don't infringe copyright, process illegal content, abuse limits, or attack the service. Violations may result in account termination.
We offer a 30-day refund guarantee on paid subscriptions. Refunds are processed by Paddle and reviewed based on product nature, reason, usage, and terms. Requests within 30 days are most likely to be approved.
Cancel anytime. Remaining credits stay usable until your billing period ends. No refund for the current period, but you won't be charged again.
Every video you process is automatically added to the Community Library (no opt-out). The library stores: video references, thumbnails, durations, and chapter/timestamp breakdowns. We never store transcripts or personal info.
Your identity is never shown on any library entry. There's no username, profile link, or attribution.
Anonymous: up to 10 videos/day under 20 minutes. Free (BYOK): unlimited under 30 minutes, free-tier content only. Paid tier: full access. Viewing a paid-created video costs 0.1 credit once per video.
Videos remain listed publicly for 30 days, then are hidden from other users but stay in your personal history indefinitely. Deleting your account removes your personal data but keeps the video records pseudonymized for the library.
